Remortgage Advice

If you already have a mortgage then you may be paying too much for this. Regular reviews of your mortgage are recommended as this may show it is beneficial to move your mortgage and make savings.

Remortgaging can be done for a number of reasons.

  • • Borrowing further money for home improvements - Extending or improving your home can be an alternative to moving property and in most cases be more cost effective.

  • • Borrowing further money for consolidating debts - Reducing your monthly commitments by consolidating debts into one affordable payment. When you consolidate debt although you are making a reduced mortgage payment there will more than likely be an increase in debt and the term used to repay it.

  • • Coming to the end of a particular fixed/discounted deal with your lender – The most common use of remortgaging is to re-negotiate a new deal with your current lender or look to remortgage away for a better deal with a new lender.

We do all the liaising with your current lender to find out if there are any early repayment charges and what, if any, deals they have for you being loyal and staying with them. A remortgage may not be beneficial at this time but we may be able to arrange a further advance with your current lender or a secured loan with a new lender, if you do require more money.

THINK CAREFULLY ABOUT SECURING OTHER DEBTS AGAINST YOUR HOME. YOUR HOME MAY BE REPOSSESSED IF YOU DO NOT KEEP UP REPAYMENTS ON A MORTGAGE OR ANY OTHER DEBT SECURED ON IT.

The Financial Services Authority does not regulate secured loans.
