Home Insurance Advice

What would happen if your property was gutted by a fire or burgled?

Most people believe that they are insured for the above, but to what extent does their insurance cover them for. In a world where price comparison sites are a major force in obtaining the most competitive quote, are we sacrificing quality cover for cost!

At PJD Mortgages we offer buildings and contents insurance on an advised basis. This means that we can quote you not only on the cheapest but the best quality cover.

For instance it may be that you want an insurance company that if you had a leak would not only pay for the leak to be repaired but also the cost in finding where the leak came from. We will explain fully what types of cover are available to you and tailor the cover to meet your needs and your budget.

Buildings Insurance Advice

If your property is subject to a mortgage then it is part of the mortgage terms that buildings insurance needs to be in place to protect the lender as well as you.

In general this covers the actual structure of the property and is normally quoted by using the projected rebuild cost (not value) of the property.

Contents Insurance Advice

Mainly covers the contents within the property such as TV’s, computers and furniture.

Can have many added extras such as covering personal possessions away from the home and non standard items such as a very expensive piece of jewellery.

Coupled with this many home insurance policies can cover you for home emergencies, such as making a burst water pipe safe, and legal expenses which can help you if you have an employment or contract dispute.

We can also give advice on this subject to landlords who have their property rented out as this is a specialist area not normally covered by residential home insurance.
